Yazdani Bakery by Meghana

Our next stop post Kyani & Co was Café Military but unfortunately it was closed. So Yazdani Bakery it was next.

Located right on the road, there was absolutely no one when we reached. Basic wooden tables & long benches were empty. Big loafs of breads were being cut into slices in what looked like a really old machine. All the bread crumbs were collected in a bag attached on the opposite side of the automated cutter. The place smelled heavenly cause of the fresh breads being baked.

“Abhi kya milega khaane?” the answer was “Sirf bun maska, cross buns, khari, jeera butter aur chai”. All the other yummy goodies like – egg preparations, pattice, etc was available only post 10. We were a little disappointed.

Called for bun maska, chai, khaari & jeera biscuits. Khari were darker than the usually light coloured khari & were super crisp. The jeera butter looked extremely tough but were quite light.  Bun maska was again a soft pav loaded with butter.

The walls have pictures of Ex-Mr Universe, the owner’s sister who was a hockey player & a sign board in French. While leaving we got some gyaan on hockey, gyaanchand & how cricket is a stupid game.

This irani café will be on my to-visit-again to taste all the other stuff.
